Bluebottle Infestation
We carried out a spray treatment yesterday for a large infestation of bluebottles throughout the house of a customer.
The infestation was down to rats getting in underneath floorboards from drain pipe that has not been capped off correctly, so we initially baited under all floorboards and under manhole to main drain and upon 2nd visit we found bait take in both areas therefore removing an infestation of rats but leaving dead rodents under floorboards where they had nested, this created a smell and then created an infestation of bluebottles.
The reason this happened is simple,customer left problem too long before getting experts in for treatment, if you let the numbers of rats increase you will eventually have the smells, the bluebottles and the more property damage.
We cleared the rats, The bluebottles, The smells with our deoderisers and got a quote for customer to have drain survey done as the rats will come back in the future if the drain survey is not completed As there will still be an entry point for rats from drainage system.
The golden rule for all pest control is: “Prevention is better than cure”
